I just returned from a ski trip to Vail, CO with 18 family members and friends. The weather was crisp and cold, and it snowed every day. The scenery was breathtaking. I had every intention of photographing some of the cute outfits that I brought with me. But, almost every single person on the trip got sick or injured, including me. I spent the week in bed with a box of tissues watching all three original Karate Kid movies. I’m home now, but my nose is still red and the outfits won’t photograph the same without the mountain scenery. So here is a different visual suitcase to show you the types of things I brought on the trip to look chic and stay warm, if I would have gotten out of bed. These items would look chic for any winter weekend away, not just for skiing.
These pieces are so versatile that all the tops would look great with all the bottoms. The turquoise sweater and the dark red jeans are an on-trend color combo. Even the raspberry jacket (love that nipped-in waist!) will look great with the dark red beanie and jeans. I would wear the short-sleeve sweater with a white or black turtleneck underneath for warmth. In the spring, swap the turtleneck for a white, button-down shirt. Besides keeping you extra warm, the ripped jeans will look very cute with a pair of silk long johns peeking out from underneath (I buy mine at Land’s End).
Enjoy!
