My favorite thing about working backstage at Fashion Week is getting to see the clothes up close, especially when it comes to certain designers. Ralph Rucci has the most luxurious fabrics, beautiful silhouettes, and I want to be a socialite so 1. I could afford them them and 2. would have many places to wear them. He draws a sophisticated crowd, even luring people like 92-year old fashion icon Iris Apfel, who had her own exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Rucci’s collection this season is very timeless. I loved the bandaids covered with silver sequins that the makeup artists used on the models’ fingers. You can see them most clearly on the model wearing the silver suit. Here are some of my favorite pieces from the Ralph Rucci Spring 2014 fashion show.
I’m now on Instagram, so be sure to follow me @madlychicblog for more great photos from NY Fashion Week!

Great pics! Your so lucky you work backstage.
I do appreciate my good luck!
Everything is so beautiful! The black leather jacket is amazing! Thanks!
That’s my favorite too. The details were just exquisite
Stunning. What are the strips of fabric hanging from the apricot and black suit?
Just an extra detail for the fashion show. They were attached to the side of the pants. I’m sure they won’t be there for the pieces they sell in stores.
